Canyoning

Canyoning (rappelling down the side of a waterfall) is a relatively new adventure activity in Costa Rica.  It involves descending down a gushing waterfall using ropes and harnesses. No previous experience is necessary.
 
Canyoning is offered in various parts of the country.  Tours generally include pick-up at your hotel, safety instruction by qualified guides, several rappels down the waterfalls and a celebratory lunch upon completion.  Rappels can range from 65 feet to more than 300 feet. This once-in-a-lifetime Costa Rican rainforest activity will get your blood flowing!
