Our Costa Rica Luxury Family Vacation package offers families looking for five-star resorts exposure to some of the top regions in Costa Rica, combining rainforests, volcanoes, beaches, and wildlife.  Exotic Manuel Antonio, with its bustling wildlife and wide range of activities, is the first stop.  Next, visit the Arenal Volcano region, featuring one of Latin America’s most active volcanoes.  Enjoy extreme or moderate nature adventures then return to Tabacon Grand Spa, a member of the Leading Hotels and the Leading Spas of the World, and relax in the hot springs.  The Costa Rica Luxury Family Vacation package ends at the plush Four Seasons Resort, with secluded beaches, lavish facilities and the country’s top services.

Day 1: Arrive at the San Jose International Airport.  After clearing customs and immigration, meet your driver as you exit the airport.  Board the van for the 3½ hour drive to Manuel Antonio.  This beautiful ride takes you west of the Central Valley to the town of Atenas.  Traverse the southern mountains towards Orotina, home to some of the country’s top fruit producers.  Continue towards the beaches of the Central Pacific, passing Herradura, Jaco, Hermosa, Esterillos, and Parrita, en route to Quepos, a fishing town near Manuel Antonio.  Check into a two-bedroom apartment in Arenas del Mar.

Day 2: After an early breakfast, you will be picked up in the hotel lobby for a private visit to the renowned Manuel Antonio National Park.  Spot three species of monkeys, sloths, iguanas, coatimundis, and a wide range of birds and reptiles.  After the tour, stay and relax on the pristine beaches of the park or return to the hotel.  Overnight in a two-bedroom apartment in Arenas del Mar.

Days 3 and 4: Relax or take advantage of the many activities available in the magnificent Manuel Antonio region and Arenas del Mar:  (These optional activities are not included.)

Boats with experienced crews can be reserved in Quepos, home to some of the world’s best sport fishing.

Go kayaking in the warm waters of the Pacific Ocean.

Sail on a 37-foot Catamaran past jagged rock formations and towering cliffs, the nesting grounds to countless marine birds.  Search for spotted dolphins, giant sea turtles and migrating humpback whales.  Then stop in a jungle cove to swim, snorkel and enjoy lunch or dinner.

Travel by boat through pristine mangroves guided by experts.  Expect close encounters with white-faced monkeys, sloths and numerous bird species.

Go horseback riding through the Pacific Lowland Rainforest Reserves to a spectacular waterfall and enjoy a refreshing swim in the pristine lagoon.

Spend a half or full day white water rafting Costa Rica’s most picturesque rivers, the Naranjo (Class II / III) or the more challenging Savegre (Class III / IV).

Glide through the rainforest in a challenging canopy tour, a trademark Costa Rican nature adventure.

Overnight in a two-bedroom suite at Arenas del Mar.

Day 5: Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and morning at the resort.  At a time TBD, the driver will pick you up for a 15 minute drive to the Quepos Airstrip.  Board the flight to Arenal.  Upon arrival, board the van for a short transfer to the Tabacon Grand Spa Resort.  Check into a superior room at Tabacon Grand Spa & Thermal Resort.  Spend the afternoon and evening enjoying the hot springs and gardens.  Your package includes $75 spa coupons (2 per room), temazcal and unlimited access to the hot springs resort.

Days 6 and 7: Explore the Arenal Volcano region and the award-winning Tabacon Grand Spa.  (Optional activities are not included.)

At the Fortuna River Waterfalls, see magnificent waterfalls cascade into the rainforest then hike and swim in the river.

The Sarapiqui River provides Class III and IV rafting for adventure aficionados and Floating Safari Class II rafting for slower paced, nature lovers.  Both tours feature amazing scenery and thrilling adventure.

Rappel down a waterfall inside the rainforest, truly an unforgettable experience!

Take the Hanging Bridges Tour — an impressive hike in the rainforest over a series of suspension bridges. 

Experience the thrill of zip lining through the canopy of the rainforest on the Sky Trek and Aerial Tram.

Stop at the Arenal National Park and learn about the Arenal Volcano.

Spend 1½ - 2 hours in a guided visit to the Venado Caves — climb walls, slide through mud holes, and hike underground rivers while exploring these unique caves. 

Overnight in a superior room at Tabacon Grand Spa.

Day 8: After breakfast, your driver will pick you up for the 25 minute transfer to the Arenal Airstrip.  Check into the flight to Liberia.  Upon arrival, board the van for the 25 minute transfer to Four Seasons Resort.  Check into a Garden Room at the Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica in Papagayo. 

Days 9 and 10: Pamper yourself at the Four Seasons.  Some of the services offered include a full-service spa with yoga classes, fully equipped gym, and one of Latin America’s top championship golf courses.  Reserve tours and activities in the area through the resort:  

Visit Rincón de la Vieja National Park, offering challenging hikes, relaxing mud baths and hot springs, and tours on horseback.

View spectacular sunsets on Costa Rica’s Pacific coast as your Catamaran traverses the tranquil waters of the Gulf of Papagayo on a romantic sunset cruise.

Go snorkeling or diving off the picturesque Catalina Islands.

Day 11: At a time TBD, the driver will pick you up in the lobby for the 25 minute transfer to the Liberia International Airport.  Arrive and check into your return flight home.
