Quepos / Manuel Antonio
The Quepos / Manuel Antonio region is the country’s top tourist destination, attracting the largest number of visitors in Costa Rica. It offers an attractive blend of striking natural settings, superb accommodations and exciting nightlife. The fishing is world-class, particularly between November and March.
El Parador, the Hotel California and Costa Verde are among the most popular hotels with fishing aficionados. These first-class hotels offer top-notch services, convenient pier access, knowledgeable staff and comfortable accommodations. They are strategically located, giving you privacy while providing easy access to the town’s nightlife. Some hotels have adult-only areas, where guests under 18 are not permitted.
Most fishing operations move their boats from the Guanacaste Region to Quepos during the peak season. Fishing is fantastic year round, but the top months coincide with the peak tourist season (December through March). We recommend booking early to secure the best boats and the top hotels.
Getting to Quepos from San Jose is easy. There is a full daily flight schedule; two local airlines will fly you there in less than 40 minutes. Driving from San Jose takes approximately 3.5 hours.
